Full-time Teaching Positions

At ISB, applicants for full-time teaching positions are required to have classroom teacher qualifications and/or certification. Examples of such undergraduate and post-graduate classroom teacher qualifications and certifications include but are not limited to:

• Bachelor of Education
• Swiss PH Teaching Diploma
• German Lehrbefähigung
• French CAPES Certification
• U.K. PGCE/QTS/Certification of Education
• U.S. State Teaching License
• Canadian Province Teaching License
• South African HDE
• New Zealand Trained Teacher's Diploma (K-Grade 6) plus Bachelor of Education (Grades 7-12)

Applicants holding only TEFL/TESOL/TOEFL/CELTA or similar qualifications will not be considered for a teaching position.

Applicants must be qualified to teach the subjects and grade levels indicated in the job vacancy. At least 4 years of teaching experience in a comparable school is required. Strong preference will be given to teachers with teaching experience and training in the relevant IB Programmes (DP/MYP/PYP).

Applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English.

Due to the timing of academic staff resignation dates, the majority of recruitment activity takes place during January and February of each year.

Business Support

Business Support positions are listed as vacancies become available. The specific requirements for each position will be included with the job posting.

Open positions for Teachers and Business Support staff are listed below. Candidates interested in an advertised position, are asked to e-mail their CV with a cover letter to recruitment @isbasel.ch. Included in the application should be the names and contact details of at least 3 professional references.

Please note that for Full-time teaching positions and Business Support positions:

Cover Teachers

ISB does accept applications for cover teacher on a year-round basis as specific postings are not done for this position. Cover teachers are required to hold the same teacher qualifications/certifications as those listed above for full-time teacher positions.
