High School Curriculum Overview

For our students, High School represents the culmination of the years of learning and self-development which began in Pre-School or Nursery. As students complete their journey towards graduation, we at ISB High School serve to fulfill their needs and interests to benefit their futures.

Several options are available to students in the High School:

IB Diploma Programme (2 years)

The vast majority of students in the High School follow a 2-year programme leading to the externally-assessed International Baccalaureate Diploma. For many, this is a preparation for University or some other form of Higher Education. Increasingly recognised by universities worldwide for its high academic standard, this is an excellent programme for students who see a university education as their next step.

ISB Diploma Programme

For students who do not require an IB Diploma, or who would find the rigorous academic study of the IB Diploma Programme too challenging, we offer an internally-assessed High School Diploma. This programme is structured around the IB Diploma, but assessment, which is to a different standard, is conducted internally at ISB.

IB Certificate Programme (2 years)

Some students who do not pursue the full IB Diploma choose to sit for external certification in one or more of the IB Diploma subject areas. This programme essentially represents a combination of the above 2 programmes.

Whichever programme students follow within the High School at ISB, the essential requirement is a desire to become a part of a community of adults, committed to learning.

For further information on the above, please refer to the Guide to DP Years.
