Saturday, 13 June, Reinach Campus 11:00 - 16:00

ISB families, friends, faculty and students are invited to the Parents’ Association’s annual celebration of our school’s unique diversity, The International Festival.

Sample foreign cuisines at 25 different Country Booths, enjoy live on-stage entertainment including the Basel Symphony’s string/woodwind quintet, Vendor Booths from 29 different artists/companies, exciting raffles, sports clinics and matches, and entertaining games and events for the kids.  Come enjoy the 24th annual celebration of the ISB’s largest event—over 1,500 attended last year.

Opening Parade of Flags

The festival begins with a parade of flags at 11:00. PYP1 - 4 students will march behind their country’s flag bearer, each carrying the home-country flags they have made in class.

Sports, Games and Activities

Students of all ages and gender can test their skills in several football/soccer matches taking place throughout the day. Need to brush up or learn a new skill? The professionals at Inter-Soccer will also be running instructional clinics throughout the day.

Rock Climbing
From 13:00-15:30, a team of experienced climbers will be available to give you instructions and get you to the top. Register your time-slot in the gym on the day and be there at least 5 minutes in advance. Think you're fast? Join the climbing competition! For daredevils who seek a thrill closer to the ground there will be a slack line and volunteers to keep your life in balance.

Water Wars
Adventurous kids of all ages are welcome to visit the “water zone.” Equipped with the various spraying devices provided on-site, they can battle for the honor of “top dog.” (bring a towel)

It’s a Small World
For our youngest attendees, the Boy Scouts will provide a variety of games and treats to please all, such as the Duck Pond, Lollipop Pick, Splat the Rat, and Lucky Dip.

Country Food Booths
Take a “virtual world tour” by sampling delicious foods and drinks from over 30 different countries. Spanish tapas, Belgian beer, Canadian waffles, Mexican Margaritas, you are guaranteed to find a favorite. How many countries can you visit in one day? Don’t forget to get your “Country Booth Passport” at the PA Table for CHF 1 and collect all the different country stamps by doing an activity at each booth. Redeem the completed Passport at the PA Table for a special reward.

Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day on the Reinach Aula stage. Performances include the Basel Symphony Orchestra’s string/woodwind quintet, Bollywood Dance, ISB Music Competition winners, the ECP/CAS Dance Groups (hip-hop, jazz, and lyrical), The Little Big Band, Reinach Choir, School of Highland Dance, the ISB Big Band, and more.

Take a chance and bid on our year level themed gift baskets (thanks to our generous families)! There is something for everyone - foodies, superhero fans and young budding builders, to name a few. This year the PA sponsored basket will feature a new Apple Ipad Mini. Raffle tickets will be available one week in advance at Aesch and Reinach campuses for CHF 2 each or CHF 5 for 3 tickets. The drawing will take place on the day of the Festival at 15:30.

Vendor Booths
Visit over 36 Vendors from the local community with a wide array of wares and services, from art, pottery and crafts to sports and fitness programs.

Please take public transportation on the day of the Festival. Reinach Campus parking will be at capacity to service the event’s vendors, food booths, etc., and parking in the residential areas around the ISB campus is extremely limited (please respect our neighbors).
