IB Diploma: Stories behind the numbers

In this new series of student stories, we seek to put a face behind ISB numbers. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we are very proud of our students' excellent academic results. But we are even prouder of their individual journeys and the efforts each and every of them deploys to reach these results.

We kick off this series with Danae. Her outstanding commitment to bring about change for the environment and her unique passion for music and arts have been a constant since she joined ISB. She chose not to pursue the full diploma and instead found her passion in other areas through Diploma Courses. Watch the video to find out about her journey.

About me My name is Danae and I am half Cypriot and half Chilean. I joined ISB in grade 9 (2017), where I started out with the intention of completing the IB diploma program. Later, however, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the performing arts, and that I’d be better prepared if I dedicated the majority of my time to practice and performance. This led me to make the decision to drop the Diploma program (in my final year) and complete an IB certificate program instead… and I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision! I’m currently studying music and musical theatre at the University of Chichester Conservatoire
