At International School Basel there are professionally-trained and qualified nurses to provide care when needed, and clear guidelines to help maintain a healthy environment for all.
All three campuses have a medical room and qualified nurses. They provide first aid and basic medical care, and give advice regarding local health care facilities.
All our staff are trained in basic first aid and a number are certified first aiders. Staff rooms contain information about students who have serious health issues to enable staff to easily recognise these students.
All staff and parents are issued with an ID badge. This must be worn in a visible manner whilst on the school property. Visitors sign in at the main reception desk at either campus and receive a visitor’s badge. All visitors sign out and return the badges before leaving the premises. Anyone without proper ID will be asked to go back to reception to sign in.
Lockdown and evacuation practices take place on a regular basis to ensure that students and personnel on campus are well-prepared in the unlikely event of an emergency. Procedures are reviewed with students prior to the practice drills.
