Global Citizenship@ISB
At International School Basel, we believe that to understand, appreciate and respect the culture of others, we must first understand, appreciate and respect our own.
In alignment with the International Baccalaureate® Programmes, ISB is committed to helping students discover, appreciate and celebrate the intersection of culture, as a representation of their own identity and the identity of others.
As we learn about the wider world, exploring our identities will help us understand our place within it, be kind and compassionate, build resilience and take responsible action towards ourselves, the betterment of society and the environment.

We are Risk Takers;
We are Caring;
We are Principled.”

Community Expectations
Since we are all learners, we believe it is the responsibility of all members of our school community to support the commitment of International School Basel to global citizenship, thus the reference to the IB Learner Profile.
The foundations for this commitment are expanded in ISB’s Guiding Statements and Learning@ISB. They are fully aligned with the ISB Mission. This document was developed in 2021 by a committee representing staff from different divisions and reviewed by leadership. A focus group of students provided further insight and informed this version. Global Citizenship is an evolving theme at ISB and therefore the commitments and expected behaviours stated here will be reviewed as we evolve as a school.
