ISB is the only school in the Basel region to offer three of the highly regarded International Baccalaureate programme in English: Primary Years Programme (Early Childhood to Grade 5, also offered in English-German Dual Language Programme); the Middle Years Programme (Grades 6 to 10); and the Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12). 

The IB programmes are recognised among the best school programmes in the world, developing the intellectual, personal, emotional and socio-emotional skills required of students to live, learn and work in a rapidly changing world. Our students are also well prepared to transition to other schools in Switzerland and around the globe when family circumstances change.

To reinforce our strong academic programme, ISB also offers students a comprehensive wellbeing programme, with a strong team of counsellors and school psychologist who support students' social and emotional needs to ensure long-term self-esteem and confidence in themselves.

As an inclusive and non-selective school, ISB supports students with additional learning needs as well as students requiring additional support in English. Our support team also includes a speech therapist, counsellors and a school psychologist.

At ISB, we know that every child is unique and so is the way we learn. We offer students a broad and holistic education comprising a multitude of activities ranging from sports to arts (music, drama and visual arts), clubs and activities to service learning opportunities and much more - all geared towards delivering a well-rounded, balanced education to our young people. The extra-curricular program, along with the academic program, are designed to enhance every student’s ability to make meaningful contributions to society.
