From 18 March, Global Recycling Day, to 22 April, Earth Day 2021, ISB Green Action Month focuses the ISB community on what we can do for our planet, with fun and thought-provoking activities to inspire positive environmental action.
We are proud to unveil the performance of the ISB Virtual Choir 2.0, featuring choral students across Grades 2-12, as well as teachers, parents and alumni. The lyrics of Lissa Schneckenburger’s “Hope Lingers On” - vividly brought to life in Andrea Ramsey’s energetic a capella arrangement - are a powerful and determined decree of hope and optimism, and could not come at a more apt time in light of current local and global events.
Alie Fordyce and Selina von Jackowski are hugely successful track and field athletes. Both ISB Alumni (Class of 2015), they studied in the US after graduating from ISB and have gone on to compete at college and national levels. In a video call with Grade 9 students they shared tips on how to efficiently set goals and embrace nervousness and provided words of wisdom that they had learned through their experiences.
We asked a selection of staff, new, long-standing and those who have been here for a few years, to answer a series of questions on life here in Basel. It is a great privilege to have staff from so many different backgrounds and experiences. It is what makes us a diverse, international community.
Lauren and Johnathon are one of our married teaching couples at ISB. They moved here in August 2019 and are now well into their second year teaching at ISB. Join us in getting to know a bit more about Lauren and Johnathon.
Earlier this year, Owen Richards, Grade 12, and Josh Downey, an ISB graduate ('20), came up with an idea to create art with some of ISB's intensive needs students and to display it on a virtual art exhibit. The duo have worked hard to bring this to life, delighting the students whose art they have displayed. We spoke with Owen and Josh on their venture, what inspired them, what their goals are and what their future plans might be.
Enya Seguin is dedicated to improving healthcare around the world. An alumni of ISB, she co-founded a start-up while at University and now works for a company that delivers unique health innovations to vulnerable communities. We sat down with her to discuss how her time at ISB helped seed her passions, how she got to where she is today and what advice she would give to fellow students.
